The BRICCOLE are hardwood poles, such as elm or oak, used to indicate the waterway within the Venetian lagoon and within the historic center to be able to dock local boats. They are one of the symbols of Venice, which emphasize its uniqueness and particularity. They are replaced periodically because, due to bad weather, the waves and the presence of small molluscs that slowly dig them, break. But why not reuse them to create something unique and unreproducible? Hence the idea of giving new light to these Venetian "guides" by transforming them into original lamps oozing with history.
